The Future Edition: This May we'll present you with a look into the domain market future. We believe in just a few years new gTLDs will be established and will play an equally important role in the domain name space just as .com, .net and others do.
New & Exclusive Sedo Auction Event
Every month we're hosting the GreatDomains Auction with a curated list of top-notch domain names. In May, we'll take a look into the future and add domains that soon will be as commonplace as .com names, such as .club and .shop.
Sedo will host a special version of our prestigious auction event: GreatDomains Auction+ The Future Edition. The inventory will feature the same high quality domains as our regular GreatDomains Auction with added premium names from our registry partners.
This special auction will close during WHD/NamesCon India where we will promote it in front of the event audience and discuss the inventory with an expert panel on stage. This means even more eyes on your domains! Apply now and take advantage of more attention for your names and especially high sales revenues.
- Auction Start: May 12th | 6:30 AM EST
- Auction End: May 19th | 6:30 AM EST
Application Criteria for GreatDomains Auction+
Application phase is April 21 - May 11.
Only generic and high-quality domains are eligible for auctions. Once you submit your domains, our brokerage team reviews these against our criteria. It is up to the discretion of our domain brokers whether your domain is accepted for the GreatDomains Auction+ (Domains under review cannot be put up for sale for about 3 - 5 days).
An application fee of $10 is charged for each domain that is submitted. This fee is non-refundable regardless of whether a domain is accepted or denied entry into the auction. An additional commission of 15% of the highest bid is charged for a successful auction sale.
Premium Domain Extension
The domain extension (TLD) of the domain is a premium TLD and has achieved high-priced sales in the past (such as .com, .net or .co.uk). New gTLDs cannot be submitted. This time, these will be provided directly from our registry partners.
The domain describes an existing product or service. Examples: car.com, creditcard.com or insurance.net
High SEO relevance: Words in your domain title achieve a high number of hits in search engines
The domain does not violate any third-party rights (such as brand rights, copyrights, or names of famous personalities)
Matching TLD language
The domain ending matches the language of the domain title (such as auto.de or car.com)
The search terms matching the domain have a high Cost-per-Click (CPC)
The domain is easy to spell and not susceptible to typos
The domain is short, consists of a real word, and is easy to remember. Such as book.com, creditcard.com or car.com
GreatDomains Auction+ will be promoted at the WHD / NamesCon India
In the run up to the Grand Finale of the auction, NamesCon India will call on a panel of experts, including domain industry leader Braden Pollock, to discuss the value of premium domains. Top brokers will be invited on stage to talk about the top 10 domains in the auction and their estimated bidding prices. Great care will be taken to assess what the best domains are, and to ensure that active bidders are engaged bidding on these. The closing event will revisit these 10 domains, to determine what their final sale prices were. See full agenda
How to Bid in the GreatDomains Auction+
Simply register and open an account with Sedo, the leading domain name maketplace with over 2 million members. Make sure to click on the confirmation link in your email and your account will be activated.
We recommend that you certify your account right after the initial setup. That way we can ensure accounts are not created through automated means, and it also helps to shorten the domain transaction process after your purchase. If you want to submit higher bids you require a higher level of certification.
Place your bids in the GreatDomains Auction+ on the domains you want. You can either place bids via the domain offer page itself or use your personal Buyer Control Panel for a streamlined overview of the domains you're interested in.
