Sedo Announces the Lowest Value Domain Sale Ever!

Logifact.com Among Thousands of Bargain Domains Available for as Little as $60

Cambridge, Mass. - December 13, 2004 - Domain marketplace Sedo.com this week has sunk to new lows-- on price! Thanks to a new policy slashing sales commissions on Sedo-parked domains to a flat 10% of the sales value, the popular domain sales venue responsible for some of the largest sales of the year has now reached a new landmark: the lowest value domain sale ever! The domain name Logifact.com sold for a mere $60, making it the cheapest domain sold through Sedo to date.

PARK AND RIDE
"This landmark sale represents an all-time low [price]," beamed Matt Bentley, CEO of Sedo.com, LLC. "Most people only pay attention to Sedo’s big six-figure deals, like Commerce.com or Woman.com. However, Logifact.com is just as momentous as it represents our new lower fee structure empowering the little guy to go make a great sale of his own. Plus, it bolstered our bottom line by a whopping $6!"

Under the reduced commission structure, domain owners who park with Sedo pay only a flat 10% of the final sales price, so the seller of Logifact.com was able to pocket a tidy $54 profit on his $60 sale.

CHEAP IS GOOD

Skyrocketing domain sales prices over the past year have left many domain investors feeling that domain acquisition costs have gone too high to turn a profit.

Yet at the very center of the speculative storm, savvy Sedo users have been able to find some screaming deals: Season.com was recently purchased for $3,500, Client.com for $5,000, Debate.com for €2,500, and Address.co.uk for ₤1,500.

"There are lots of reasons why you might not want to pay a lot for a domain," explains Bentley. "Many of our cheapo customers are saving to invest in marketing, scrimping under tightened corporate budgets, or have recently had their allowance cut." Bentley cites a long tradition of successful entrepreneurs who built on the cheap, including Sam Walton, Michael Dell, and Ebenezer Scrooge.

To underscore their strength in the lowly, the common, and the unwanted, Sedo has launched a new section on their website featuring "bargain domains" on sale for under $300. "We want domain investors to know that when it comes to low-priced domains, we’ve got your bottom," said Bentley.
