Information about the bidding process:

If you would like to make an offer to buy a domain name listed on Sedo.com you must first create or login to your Sedo account. You will be given the opportunity to sign up for a free account after entering your first offer. All Sedo users must complete the Buyer Certification process located under the "My Sedo" menu at the top of each page.

Once you have logged in and certified your account you may submit an offer. Once your offer is accepted, the offer is sent to the Seller via email. The domain owner may then (a) accept your offer which closes the sale of the domain (b) make a counter offer which you will receive via email, or (c) choose to push the domain into an Auction. If the seller chooses option (b) you must then respond to this counter offer by either accepting the counteroffer thereby closing a sale, or by making a further counter offer of your own. If it is a general marketplace sale, the negotiation process can continue back forth in this manner until a deal is reached or the negotiations are unsuccessful. If an Auction option has been selected by the Seller, other Sedo users may enter bids until the close of Auction whereby the highest bidder is the Auction winner. Both general marketplace sale negotiations and Auction processes are anonymous to protect both Buyer and Seller.

IMPORTANT: Please note that your offer and any counter offers placed for a domain, based in either a general marketplace sale or an Auction, are binding for seven (7) days from the date the offer was entered. During this seven day period you cannot lower your offered price and the Seller cannot raise his asking price, although through the Auction, the price may in fact rise as other Sedo users enter higher bids. Therefore, the potential Buyer may raise his/her offer while the seller MAY NOT raise the reserve price of the domain.

Once you and the Seller have agreed upon a price and confirmed the offer or if you are the winner of an Auction period, a binding purchase and sale agreement has been created between you and the Seller which will appear in your Sedo account. Failure to perform your responsibilities as the Buyer of the domain may result in legal damages should the Seller choose to enforce the purchase and sale agreement in a competent court of law.

Upon reaching an agreement or winning an Auction, Sedo will then send you an invoice for the purchase price of the domain. Once your payment has been received in Sedo’s secure escrow account, Sedo will instruct the Seller on how to begin the technical transfer of the domain to your control. Once your control of the domain has been confirmed, Sedo will release the purchase funds to the Seller on your behalf as payment for the domain.
