Why is my domain pending verification?

All domains listed within Sedo’s database are subject to ownership verification. Our system checks registration data and compares it with the information listed in the public WHOIS database. However if WHOIS information is unavailable, or the owner has opted to use a privacy protection service, this process must be completed manually.

Depending on the activity within the marketplace, ownership verification may take up to several business days to complete and may require the seller to confirm access to the Administrative Contact (Admin-C) email address provided in the WHOIS records for the domain in question.

You can do the following to help expedite the process:
  1. Temporarily disable privacy protection services during the ownership verification process.
  2. Make sure your Sedo contact details match the contact details in the WHOIS records.
  3. Set the name servers to NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM and NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM
  4. Login to your Sedo account and go to My Sedo > My Domains and click on the tab "Domain Ownership Verification". Here you will see your individual verification ID which consists of 40 digits. This ID is account-based and can be used for every domain in your Sedo Account.

Copy your verification ID, log in to your registrar account, and navigate to your domain DNS settings section. Often, this button is called "Settings", "Config", "Console", or something similar. Select the record type TXT or CNAME and paste your verification ID in that field (make sure not to paste blank spaces). Confirm your changes to complete this action.

Please keep in mind that changes made at the registrar can take up to 72 hours to take effect. Listings may be rejected if a domain appears as unregistered.
