What are the requirements for a GreatDomains Auction Event?

Inclusion of a domain in a GreatDomains Auction Event is at the discretion of Sedo’s brokerage department.

Auction Criteria

Domains may be approved for GreatDomains Auction Events if:
  • The domain extension (TLD) of the domain is considered premium and has a history of high-value sales (such as .com, .net or .de)
  • The domain is generic, describing an existing product or service (e.g. like car.com, creditcard.com, or healthcare.com)
  • The domain is short, consists of an actual, real word, and is easy to remember
  • The domain is easy to spell and not prone to typographical errors
  • The TLD geographically matches the language of the domain name
  • The domain doesn't violate third party rights (e.g. trademark rights, intellectual property, or other famous names)

Note 1:  You may only submit five domains for consideration per 24-hour period.
Note 2:  The specific requirements for any auction event will be clearly stated during the application process.

By applying for a GreatDomains Auction Event you agree to exclusively list, market, and sell the domain through Sedo during the auction and up until 60 days after the auction has ended. While a domain is waiting for auction approval and during the pre-auction period it will be listed as "not for sale" on our marketplace.
