Why do I receive a payment request and not an invoice during the transfer of a domain?

Sedo works in the capacity of a third party (transfer agent) during a domain sale. As Sedo is not the final recipient of funds for a domain purchase, we only issue a payment request on the seller's behalf. If you are a buyer and are responsible for paying the commission on a domain sale, only then will you receive both a payment request and an invoice for the commission from Sedo.

To find the payment request for your domain purchase follow the steps below:
  1. Log into your Sedo account.
  2. From the "My Sedo" menu, select "Transfer Center."
  3. Click on the domain name in question.
  4. Select the "Transfer Documents" tab.

The payment request is also available in the "Billing" section of your account, under "My Sedo."
To request an invoice from the seller follow the steps below:
  1. Log into your Sedo account.
  2. From the "My Sedo" menu, select "Transfer Center."
  3. Click on the domain name in question.
  4. Select the "Transfer Documents" tab.
  5. Click on "Request Invoice from Seller" under the "Actions" column.

The seller will be notified of the request to upload the document.
